About Windcrest, TX - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Windcrest, Texas is a city located in Bexar County, and as of 2010, its population was roughly 5,400 residents. It is bordered on three sides by San Antonio, but to the east it is bordered by several Bexar County unincorporated neighborhoods. The community is made up of 2.2 square miles of total area and is located 11 miles northeast of San Antonio’s famous downtown area. Windcrest is served by the North East Independent School District, and older students will finish their education at Roosevelt High School in San Antonio.

There are several attractions located in and around the Windcrest area, although most have San Antonio addresses. The Windcrest Civic Center hosts a variety of events throughout the year, and outdoor activities can be enjoyed at Takas Park and Windcrest City Park. Families with children may enjoy the activities at Amazing Jump, and the Granberry Hills Event Facility provides a great venue for weddings and other special occasions. Visitors or residents who are looking for a night out in the town in this region of the San Antonio area may like to check out Cowboys Dancehall, which offers country music, a mechanical bull, and a large dance floor.

Summers in Windcrest tend to be very hot and uncomfortable. Without an efficient home cooling and air conditioning system, residents would be subjected to stifling conditions of close to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. These weather patterns can be dangerous, especially to the elderly, and they can also troubling for people who suffer from breathing conditions or allergies. Fortunately, a properly serviced air conditioner can make interior climates more comfortable while also improving air quality.

Winters in this community are often more pleasant, as temperatures are warm in the low- to mid-60s. While snow is rare, freezing rain does occur periodically when cold fronts push into the area. When these conditions are present, road travel can become hazardous, so residents may be forced to stay indoors. A heat pump or furnace can help to prevent pipes and plumbing from freezing during these periods.
