There are a variety of things to see and do when visiting New Braunfels. The Schlitterbahn New Braunfels Water Park is family-friendly attraction that visitors young and old can enjoy, and visitors with small children may also enjoy a trip to the McKenna Children’s Museum. History enthusiasts may like to spend an afternoon at The Sophienburg to learn about the history of New Braunfels, and adults may wish to beat the Texas heat by getting a drink at the Dry Comal Creek Vineyards.

New Braunfels provides visitors with numerous opportunities to get some fresh air and spend time outdoors. The Guadalupe River is popular for tubing, rafting, and canoeing, and Canyon Lake is a great place to relax with a picnic on its 80 miles of scenic shoreline. Landa Park is also great for families with its train rids and paddleboats.

The weather is a top reason that many people choose to live in New Braunfels. Although summer conditions can be dangerously hot at times, winter weather is often warm compared to other areas of the U.S. However, homeowners will be wise to invest in both air conditioning and home heating systems for their properties. While winter temperatures tend to stay in the 60s, cold fronts do push into the area, and when they do, residents will need a heating system to protect their pipes and plumbing from freezing.
